Sara Feldmann Brummer (nee Cluderay) trained as a singer at Trinity College of Music London under John Wakefield. Recent studies include coaching sessions with Jean Carter (choral conducting), Alice Farnham and Sarah Tenant-Flowers (RPS Women Conductors), and joint sessions with Cantor Jaclyn Chernett and Robert Davis (Jewish Cantorial singing).

In 2019, Sara was appointed as a soloist at Westminster Synagogue, Knightsbridge.

As a chorister Sara has sung at venues including the Royal Festival Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, Westminster Abbey, St James Piccadilly, Grays Inn Chapel, Belsize Square Synagogue, and West London Synagogue.

Major London

As a soprano concert soloist, Sara has performed at major London venues including the Barbican, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, The Actors’ Church Covent Garden, the Austrian and Serbian Embassies and the National Portrait Gallery. Festivals include Dartington, Corsham and Chester. Opera appearances include Cirque d’Hoffmann at Buxton Opera House and La Traviata with Dartington Festival Opera.

Broadcasting

She has broadcast for Classic FM, BBC Radio 1, Channel Four and Channel 5 Television. Session work includes backing vocals with The Clint Boon Experience (studio and touring, including support act spots with Travis and Echo & the Bunnymen) and concerts and recordings with the Maida Vale Singers.

Cabaret Performances

Cabaret includes Cafe Koha (West End), the Pheasantry and Don’t Tell Mama (NYC). Sara is a member of a cappella group The Kitchen Quartet, and has performed with them at the Open Arts Cafe, West London Synagogue and The Tickled Bean comedy night. Previous collaborations include concerts and recordings with Ismena Collective and cabaret with Two Dumb Blondes.

Choral Music Conducting

Choral Conducting

Choral conducting includes the North London Military Wives Choir, The Young Singers (Tri-borough Music Hub) and the additional choir of West London Synagogue. Sara has conducted children’s choirs at the Royal Albert Hall (including the Music for Youth Primary Prom), Westminster Central Hall and the Royal College of Music. She was the Musical Director of the staff choirs at British Land plc, and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Tri-borough Music Hub

Sara joined the Tri-borough Music Hub in 2012 as Vocal Lead, before being promoted to Vocal Provision Manager, a post she held until late 2018. This was a multi-faceted and strategic role overseeing singing and choral provision across three London boroughs (Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea and Hammersmith & Fulham). The post encompassed many different aspects – conducting choirs, training teachers, raising standards in vocal tuition, evaluation of music tutors, devising and delivering large-scale children’s choral events and collaborating on creative projects with partner organisations including the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal College of Music, The Bach Choir, English National Opera, Wigmore Hall and the BBC.
